BEIJING — Chinese railway police have launched a special operation clamping down on crimes involving train tickets to ensure smooth travel during the holiday season.

The targets of the operation include illegal ticket-selling platforms and outlets, fraudsters, scalpers, and fare evaders, among other lawbreakers, said the Ministry of Public Security.

Starting on Dec 30, 2020, the special operation is scheduled to conclude on March 8, the last day of this year's travel rush season around the Chinese Lunar New Year, or Spring Festival, which falls on Feb 12.
