BEIJING — Fourteen patients of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) were discharged from hospital after recovery on the Chinese mainland on May 14, the National Health Commission said on May 15.

Altogether 78,209 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital by the end of May 14, the commission said in its daily report.

As of May 14, a total of 82,933 confirmed COVID-19 cases had been reported on the mainland, and 4,633 people had died of the disease.
