A satellite was launched from China’s Tiangong-2 space lab at 7:31 am Beijing time on Oct 23. That was confirmed by China’s Technology and Engineering Center for Space Utilization.

The micro-satellite, which weighs 47 kilograms and is about size of a printer, was taken into space onboard the Tiangong-2 in September. It is able to conduct efficient orbit control, transmit data at high speeds, and has stronger capabilities compared with the satellite of the Shenzhou-7 spacecraft.

At the end of October, the satellite will orbit close to Tiangong-2 and Shenzhou-11, and take photographs with its high-resolution camera.
