March 5 this year is the traditional Lantern Festival. Celebrations have already begun around China. In Taiwan’s Tainan City, a fireworks display was held at a local temple over the weekend, attracting thousands of people.

The sky over the Luermen Matsu Temple was sparkling from more than 6,000 fireworks. With 2015 being the Year of the Sheep, the operators created a manifestation of one of the fluffy animals in the sky, and there was even the Matsu, a Chinese goddess who is said to protect fishermen and sailors.

Another highlight was a splendid waterfall. The fireworks display is part of the Lantern Festival celebration in Tainan.
